Effectively take care of your full inbox.

When you first hear inbox, I bet you think of your email, or a place to submit an assignment. In Getting Things Done, it has a much broader meaning. An inbox is all the different things that you have collected, like tasks you have to do, or paying your credit card bill. Allen wants you to reach an inbox of zero. This means keeping your inbox empty at all times, by keeping good management on it and staying focused on keeping it that way. Getting your inbox to zero might seem like a challenge, but if you use the work flow diagram, it should be a little bit easier. It’s important you take care of anything that could take longer than 2 minutes so you don’t forget. Clearing the inbox should be a daily activity. This allows for less buildup of old material and can increase productivity and reduce stress. Clearing your inbox can include completing small actions that take up very little time, delegating actions that don’t have a high priority.
